Knit one of the most iconic creatures from the wizarding world – Hedwig, the snowy owl.
A large snowy owl with spotted wings, Hedwig is one of Harry Potter’s closest friends and allies for the first six films. Worked predominantly in the round, short rows add shaping to Hedwig’s chest area, while stitches are picked up and knit to create the legs and head. The tops of the wings are worked in stocking stitch and the bottom is ribbed with a row of scallops made diagonally across the bottom edges. Her wings and tail feathers extend beyond the body to provide balance, while the legs support her weight. All pieces are stuffed at the end, and safety eyes and an embroidered beak add detail to this cuddly replica of Harry’s devoted friend.
